If you’re looking for a way to prioritize your self-care routine, you might want to consider Silk and Sonder.

Silk and Sonder is a monthly subscription service that provides you with a personalized planner/journal that’s designed to help you achieve your goals and take care of yourself.

Each journal is filled with prompts, exercises, and other tools that are meant to help you reflect, plan, and take action.

One of the things that sets Silk and Sonder apart from other planners is its focus on self-care and it’s one of the main reasons I decided to invest in their products.

The planner includes a section for tracking your self-care activities, as well as prompts and exercises that encourage you to prioritize your mental and physical health. It also includes sections for setting goals, tracking habits, and planning your schedule, so you can stay organized and focused on what matters most to you.

In this Silk and Sonder review, we will take a deeper look into the company and products so you can decide if it’s right for you.

Silk and Sonder Brand Overview

Company History

Silk and Sonder is a brand that offers monthly planners/journals designed to help you live a more organized and fulfilling life.

Silk and Sonder Logo

The company was founded in 2018 by Meha Agrawal, who wanted to create a planner that was more than just a tool for managing tasks and appointments.

Agrawal wanted to create a planner that would help people focus on their goals, create and maintain habits, and practice self-care.

Since its launch, Silk and Sonder has gained a lot of popularity. The company has been featured in several publications, including Forbes and Vogue.

Product Range

Silk and Sonder offers monthly planners that are designed to meet different needs and preferences. Each planner comes with a unique theme and includes a variety of features that are meant to help you stay on track with your goals and habits.

Some of the features you can expect to find in a Silk and Sonder planner include:

Detailed Silk and Sonder Review

Let’s get into the heart of this Silk and Sonder review, though, so I can tell you about the products as well as my experience with them.

Product Quality

Silk and Sonder journals in a flatlay arrangement.

Silk and Sonder offers high-quality products that are aesthetically beautiful.

I had to remind myself that it wasn’t too pretty to use!

It’s a spiral-bound design and I love that you can easily flip/fold the pages.

The pages themselves are thicker and more durable for a variety of different marker or pen types.

That said, the front and back covers are a bit flimsy. For the price, I was expecting a harder/more sturdy cover.

It doesn’t deter me from using it at all, but I do wish the cover was sturdier.

Design and Usability

The design of Silk and Sonder planners is sleek and modern. The layouts are well-organized and easy to navigate, with plenty of space for notes and to-do lists. The planners also come with motivational quotes and prompts to help you stay on track and focused.

In terms of usability, Silk and Sonder planners are user-friendly and intuitive.

The planner includes monthly, weekly, and daily spreads, making it easy to plan out your schedule and stay organized.

The planner also includes a habit tracker and goal-setting pages, which help you track progress and stay motivated.

What’s even better is you can use the pages as you see fit! Many people update/adapt things to fit their specific needs, and Silk and Sonder encourages people to use the planner however they need it.

Variety

Silk and Sonder offers a variety of planner options.

What they are most known for are the subscriptions they offer, which include monthly, quarterly, and yearly options.

Each month, subscribers receive a new planner with a different theme and design, which keeps things interesting and fresh.

They also offer a life workbook, a dateless self-care planner, and a thoughts journal among other things.

If you want to try out Silk and Sonder before committing to a subscription, I suggest checking out the Dateless Self-Care Planner as it is the perfect introduction to Silk and Sonder and allows you to get a taste of what the subscription is really like.

Price

Silk and Sonder planners are priced higher than some competitors, but the quality and design make them worth the investment. The monthly subscription is about $25 per month, but there are quarterly and yearly options that bring the price down more (around $20 a month).

While this may seem pricey, the value of having a well-designed and high-quality planner cannot be overstated.

And it’s important to remember it’s more than just a planner. It’s also a tool for tracking and managing self-care.

When you break it down and think about it in terms of spending $20 a month on self-care, it’s pretty reasonable. And, you can often catch sales or discount codes around big holidays, which brings the price down more.

Positives and Negatives of Silk and Sonder

Silk and Sonder has received a lot of positive feedback from its customers. And, you can see many happy customers sharing their experiences on the company’s website and social media pages.

But, nothing is perfect, Silk and Sonder included. And as great as it has been using the product, there are a few negatives that I think people should be aware of.

Positives and Negatives to Silk and Sonder

I think the positives outweigh the negatives. And, when it comes to price, although it might seem expensive as a planner, you have to remember it’s more than that. And when you think of it as a form of self-care as well as a planner/organizer, I think it’s pretty reasonable.

Recommendations

If you’re considering trying Silk and Sonder, here are a few recommendations to help you make the most of your subscription:

  • Take the time to fill out the initial questionnaire thoroughly.
  • Set aside time each day or week to use the planner and engage with the other resources provided. Consistency is key when it comes to building healthy habits.
  • Don’t feel pressured to use pages or sections that you don’t need.

How Do I Personally Use Silk and Sonder?

I think it’s always helpful in reviews like this to read how someone actually uses the product (not just what it is and what it can do).

To be honest, I’m not a daily planner type of person. It’s too overwhelming for me and I don’t get anything out of it.

That said, I find the daily pages/sections helpful for planning and organizing my blog tasks, which has been really great.

I specifically like and use the habit tracker, mood tracker, goal-setting/reflection areas (both on a monthly and weekly level), and the spaces for coloring and doodling.

Plus I enjoy the journaling prompts included both in the monthly journal and on the app. The prompts have made me think and write/reflect on a personal level which I always enjoy.

On the flip side, there are pages I don’t use at all like the sleep tracker and the meal plan (I have my own templates I prefer, plus I don’t like to meal plan breakfast and lunch for myself…it’s overkill in my eyes).

But, through the app, you can see what other people have adapted the pages to and possibly use your own design.

Also, I do suggest using some type of bookmark so you can easily get to the weekly planner pages – I use a paperclip so I can clip together the old daily/weekly planner pages for days that have passed.

Final Thoughts

Silk and Sonder is a great option for anyone who wants to prioritize their mental health and self-care routine

The monthly subscription provides a variety of tools and resources that can help you stay on track with your goals and stay motivated. The planner is well-designed and easy to use, with plenty of space for notes and reflections.

One potential downside is the cost of the subscription, which may not be feasible for everyone.

However, I personally think Silk and Sonder is worth considering if you’re looking for a comprehensive and personalized approach to self-care.

Overall, I’m really glad I have invested in this and excited to see how my self-care journey progresses.
