As an avid coffee enthusiast always on the lookout for unique roasters, stumbling upon Many Worlds Tavern was akin to discovering a hidden treasure chest in the depths of a virtual dungeon.
The concept of “gamer coffee” intrigued me from the get-go, and I knew I had to delve deeper into this caffeinated realm.
The term “gamer” holds a multitude of meanings, encompassing everything from video game aficionados to tabletop RPG enthusiasts. Many Worlds Tavern, however, sets its sights squarely on the realm of Dungeons & Dragons, the iconic fantasy tabletop RPG that has captured the imaginations of countless adventurers.
Full disclosure, I have never played D&D, but I know many who have (my sister included) and I’m familiar with the basics of the game and have gleaned enough to appreciate the essence of this fantastical universe.
And it’s precisely this essence that Many Worlds Tavern encapsulates in each aromatic blend.
Coffee for Gamers: Many Worlds Tavern
Upon venturing into the virtual “tavern,” I found myself faced with an array of enticing offerings in both coffee and tea.
Many Worlds Tavern caters to a diverse array of tastes and preferences, offering both coffee and tea options. From the adventurous Dragon’s Nest to the comforting Homely House, there’s a gamer coffee blend for every palate.
Moreover, in addition to offering a tantalizing array of gamer coffees, Many Worlds Tavern goes above and beyond to make a positive impact in the gaming community.
For every bag purchased, Many Worlds Tavern pledges to donate $1 to various gaming-related nonprofit organizations. This commitment is not just a gesture; it’s a promise to support the gaming community that serves as inspiration for this coffee roaster and it’s important to highlight. From Many Worlds Tavern, I ordered the following:
- Dragon’s Nest
- Treasured Realm Single Origin (February 2024)
- Sample Packs of
- Electric Sheep
- Great Old One
- Homely House
- Dragon’s Nest
- Sleepy Fields Chamomile Tea
- Hazy Hills Earl Grey Tea
The wide variety of sample pack offerings was a delightful surprise and it allowed me to explore an assortment of brews, including tea.
Although coffee is my love and passion, I enjoy tea too. And Many Worlds Tavern has a large collection of tea including one of my personal favorites: Earl Grey.
The Hazy Hills Earl Grey Tea that I snagged to try is a smooth black tea and was enjoyable with milk (really the only way to drink Earl Grey tea in my opinion). It was familiar yet unique at the same time, and I’d highly recommend this one if you are a fan of Earl Grey.
I also tried their version of chamomile, Sleepy Fields, which had sweet, floral notes like chamomile typically does. Chamomile is one of my favorite teas to drink at night because of the calmness it brings and this blend was no expectation.
Having sampled these, I’d like to try the Astral Bloom (a floral white tea) and the Spiced Sands (a take on masala chai) next.
Switching gears back to their gamer coffee, I was happy to see a decaf blend: Electric Sheep.
This decaf blend from Many Worlds Tavern is a dream come true for those who seek the perfect balance of taste and tranquility.
While non-decaf coffees may fuel the adventure, there comes a time when a gentler touch is needed, allowing the mind to wander freely without the buzz of caffeine.
But make no mistake – just because Electric Sheep is decaf doesn’t mean it lacks flavor. Far from it. Its subtle nuances and delicate aromas weave a tapestry of relaxation, offering solace in moments of quiet contemplation.
So, whether you’re winding down after a long day of adventure or simply seeking a moment of calm amidst the chaos, Electric Sheep beckons with its soothing embrace.
Next up, I tried Great Old One – a long dark roast.
For those who savor something heavy, bold, and rich, Great Old One is a revelation.
What sets this coffee apart is its masterful balance. Despite its darker roast profile, it avoids the pitfalls of tasting burnt or ashy, a testament to the craftsmanship of Many Worlds Tavern’s roasters. Instead, it delivers a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate, inviting exploration with every sip.
In contrast, Homely House is perfect for those coffee drinkers who seek solace in the familiar and delight in the timeless allure of a well-crafted cup of coffee.
Homely House delivers an experience that is both comforting and crowd-pleasing. Its medium roast profile strikes a perfect balance, offering a harmonious blend of flavors that appeal to a wide array of coffee drinkers.
Carefully sourced, roasted, and blended, Homely House is a testament to Many Worlds Tavern’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Each bean is selected with precision, ensuring that only the finest ingredients contribute to the blend’s exceptional taste.
With Homely House, the ritual of coffee becomes a moment of pure joy, where every sip is a reminder of life’s simple pleasures. It’s a classic flavor profile that evokes memories and offers comfort, just what you want in the morning.
My personal favorite of the bunch was Dragon’s Nest.
An adventurous blend, Dragon’s Nest beckons with its tantalizing blend of fruit and floral notes. It’s not just coffee; it’s an experience that transcends the ordinary because it’s more than just a beverage.
Dry-processed to perfection, Dragon’s Nest has a bold flavor profile and captivating aroma. It’s a coffee that tantalizes the senses and leaves a lasting impression (I’m still thinking about it!).
With its bold flavor profile and captivating aroma, it has the power to awaken the spirit of exploration within us all, inspiring us to embrace new experiences and seek out the extraordinary in the everyday.
Last up we have Treasured Realm, which is, in my opinion, the crown jewel of Many Worlds Tavern gamer coffee offerings.
As its name suggests, Treasured Realm is dedicated to showcasing the best single-origin coffees available, sourced from around the globe to provide coffee enthusiasts with a truly exceptional experience.
But, this unique subscription box not only delivers exceptional single-origin coffees it also adds a touch of gaming flair to your coffee experience, making it the ultimate choice for gamer coffee enthusiasts.
The Treasured Realm coffee for February (2024) was a single-origin Costa Rican coffee in a medium-roast, honey-processed. It was delicious and I love that this subscription box features only single-origins because it’s one of the ways I love exploring new coffees.
Every Treasured Realm includes:
- a bag of single-origin coffee (changes every month)
- a full set of DICE
- limited-run realm card
- 5e D&D compatible magic item card
- realm sticker
Although I love the extras that are included, I can’t help but wonder if the novelty of a full set of dice every month might wear thin over time, especially for those like me who aren’t D&D players. But I do love the stickers and cards; it’s such a clever and unique way to make something coffee-related into a collectible item and I want to collect them all!
I can’t wait to order another Treasured Realm box again.
It’s a fabulous coffee subscription box that invites you to embark on a flavorful journey along with a sense of whimsy and adventure. You can see all the past Treasured Realm boxes as well which I thought was pretty neat.
And, Many Worlds Tavern offers a tea subscription counterpart too: Fabled Foliage.
Many Worlds Tavern isn’t just a gamer coffee company–it’s a gateway to adventure, a hub of creativity, and a haven for those who seek to blend their love of coffee with their passion for gaming.
With each sip, one can’t help but feel transported to distant lands, where dragons soar and heroes rise to meet their destiny.
So, whether you’re a seasoned gamer or a coffee aficionado seeking a new adventure, Many Worlds Tavern invites you to indulge in the rich flavors and captivating narratives of gamer coffee.
After all, in a world brimming with possibilities and coffee on every corner, why settle for anything less than extraordinary?
