When I was sitting down to write this blog post, I was trying to think of something specific to my work to tie into working mother quotes.
After all, this blog has a major focus on working motherhood…at least that’s what my goal with it.
Well, that and coffee 🙂
But my work section has been lacking a bit on my blog lately (I’ll admit it) and I finally figured out why I’ve been struggling to write about it.
Working motherhood is freaking hard!
And I work from home so there is really no break from anything.
I hear my daughter laughing (and crying) when I’m upstairs working. I log onto my computer at night to check my work email, sometimes I answer some (I can’t help myself).
My work/life balance is not normal because my work is at home and my life is at home.
I’m home all day and working motherhood has been HARD lately.
It’s just been a grind all day every day for the past few weeks. And, this working mama is tired (mentally especially!).
To keep my spirits up, I’ve found myself drinking coffee in the afternoon lately, using affirmations, and reading inspirational quotes on Instagram and Pinterest.
And, reminding myself that my kid doesn’t need to do all the summer or fall things.
- Trips to the Zoo
- Hayrides
- Corn mazes
- Pumpkin patches
We haven’t done any of that this year and it’s okay.
Although I work from home, I can’t just go do whatever I want. I have customers (government customers specifically) that I work for and although many people talk about the flexibility of working from home, I can’t just work whenever I want to.
Because of what I do, I have to be available during traditional working hours.
And, when the weekend rolls around I just want to sit on the couch and try to catch up on Outlander.
I know I’m still a good mom even if I didn’t do all those “fun things” this year. And I know my daughter loves me just the same (she’s two so she doesn’t even know anything different, lol).
But if you’re like me and need a little reminder from time to time, that you are a good mom and a good employee here are some inspiring working mother quotes.
Because I see you working Mom; I know it’s hard.
I get it because I live it every day too and this round-up of working mother quotes is my way of giving you a virtual hug and telling you that you are a great mom and a great employee (because you are!).
