I first discovered Clevr Blends about two or three years ago when they sent me some samples to try. I remember enjoying the latte powders, but Clevr Blends wasn’t something that became part of my regular coffee routine.

And I think that was because I was trying to change up my morning routine. You know my tried-and-true: grind my beans and make coffee in my coffee pot, the thing I’ve done every day for years. I just couldn’t let that go because I really do love it.

So fast-forward a few years, and Clevr reached out to me again about trying their blends. But what caught my eye this time was the evening blends, specifically the Deep Calm Magnesium+. Because as much as I want to say I have an evening routine, I really don’t.

I love the idea of an evening routine and drinking something special and cozy after the kids are in bed. Actually taking a few minutes to wind down. But the reality? By the time the kids are in bed, I’m tired. The thought of making a special, cozy caffeine-free drink just sounds exhausting to me.

But reading about Clevr’s evening blends this time made me want to give it another shot.

Maybe they could help me create the nighttime “coffee” routine I’ve been craving. So I decided it was time to give Clevr Blends another try.

Since the evening blends were what caught my attention this time around, that’s where I decided to start.

Deep Calm Magnesium+

The Deep Calm Magnesium+ is an evening drink mix designed to support relaxation and sleep. It’s caffeine-free and contains eight active ingredients, including magnesium, L-theanine, chamomile, tart cherry, and ashwagandha. Clevr says it’s designed to help calm the mind, relax the body, and support stress resilience.

So does it?

I think yes. The first time I had this, I wasn’t really expecting much. Lots of brands claim things promote relaxation and calm, but not all of them deliver.

For me, I noticed my body and mind become calmer after drinking it. It was honestly shocking to me that I could feel a difference. It just felt like this calm had come over me (which, as a mom of two young children, was really refreshing!).

A few other things I enjoyed about the Deep Calm Magnesium+ were:

  • It’s easy to make
  • Tastes delicious (really, it does!)
  • It feels like a cocktail if you put it in a fancy glass

This drink mix has quickly become something that I want to drink at night, and it really spearheaded my journey of creating an evening routine.

Which brings me to the next evening blend I tried from Clevr…

Sleeptime SuperLatte

The Sleeptime SuperLatte is a magnesium latte with sleep herbs and adaptogens. I was really excited to try this one, and it did not disappoint.

Unlike the Deep Calm Magnesium+, you can brew the SuperLattes in a few different ways. Either hot or cold, and with milk or water. I only drank the Sleeptime SuperLatte hot since I was drinking it at night and wanted to create a cozy, calming evening.

I did try this one with both water and milk. Both work great, but I prefer milk as it tasted and felt creamier. The spices in this one are really lovely, and it reminded me of a sleepytime coffee (instead of a sleepytime tea). Clevr describes it as a vanilla cappuccino meets hot chocolate, which is a good description too; it’s just a bit more herby, like a sleepytime tea.

In terms of sleep, I do think this helped me sleep better. I felt like I fell asleep faster and slept a little more soundly.

I wear a Fitbit all day, and the first night I drank this, my sleep score was an 87, which is one of the highest scores I’ve gotten.

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite between the Deep Calm Magnesium+ and the Sleeptime SuperLatte. They both have their benefits, and I like that the Deep Calm Magnesium+ helped me calm my mind a little more, and I think I appreciate that overall more, as my anxiety at night sometimes gets the better of me, and it’s hard for my brain to turn off.

Clevr Blends has daytime blends too that have caffeine. I tried the Coffee SuperLatte and the Honey Pistachio Matcha SuperLatte.

Coffee SuperLatte

Switching to the SuperLatte caffeine blends, the Coffee SuperLatte reminded me the most of a traditional cup of coffee.

I tried this one with both water and milk. Using milk made it much creamier and richer, but water worked just as well. I did try this one iced, but I preferred it hot.

The biggest difference I noticed with this superlatte when compared to the others I tried was that I could pick up the mushroom notes/flavors a lot more. I think it’s because it was a more traditional coffee/latte blend and it didn’t have any other flavors added in, but it was an interesting comparison.

Honey Pistachio Matcha SuperLatte

I’m not normally a fan of matcha; there’s just something about it that doesn’t taste right to me. Maybe it’s the texture and the fact that it usually feels chalky to me. I’m not sure, but I don’t drink a lot of matcha.

So I’ll be honest and say this is the one I was least excited for.

Until I tried it.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the Honey Pistachio Matcha SuperLatte from Clevr Blends. It is, first and foremost, such a unique and tasty flavor combination. It’s sweet, but not overly sweet. And I find that the matcha isn’t too overpowering. Plus, it doesn’t have that chalky texture like other matchas I’ve tried.

Unlike the other superlattes, I preferred this one iced and with water. I’m not sure why; it just tasted the best this way to me.

I really enjoyed Clevr Blends, and I’m super excited to have found something that helps me create an evening “coffee” routine (just without the coffee!).

For me, I think the Deep Calm Magnesium+ won out as my overall favorite. I love the taste and how I felt after drinking it.

But it’s also summer, and this is a great evening drink since it’s meant to be drunk cold/iced. So I could change my mind come winter and prefer the Sleeptime SuperLatte since you can drink it hot.

No matter what, Clevr Blends has become something I genuinely look forward to in the evening. It has given me the calming evening drink I’ve been craving.
