Gilmore Girls is one of my all-time favorite shows…and Lorelai Gilmore’s love affair with coffee is one of the many highlights of the show.
The complexities of the mother/daughter relationship at various levels (not just through the show’s main stars) are so relatable. And, it’s witty, funny, and clever.
But…back to coffee…
Because one of the best things about Gilmore Girls is their serious love for coffee and the great one-liners that have come out of the amazing, complex character of Lorelai Gilmore.
I just love Lorelai Gilmore’s coffee addiction and her need for caffeine (always!).
I don’t know that she could ever go a day without it…and frankly, I don’t blame her!
When I was pregnant and breastfeeding, I gave up coffee. It wasn’t hard, honestly, and I thought maybe I didn’t need it anymore.
But, I will never forget that first sip after I was done breastfeeding. In some ways, it just felt like home.
So, I understand Lorelai’s love affair with the beverage because I think all coffee drinkers have a love affair with coffee in some way.
Coffee is more than just a pick-me-up. It’s part of a routine and comfort in a mug.
It’s happiness.
At least that’s what it is for me.
And, I think that’s what coffee is for Lorelai too.
