In case you missed it, my theme this August is getting organized

I’ve felt so overwhelmed lately and it’s largely because I’ve been unorganized in almost every aspect of my life.

Work, home, mentally, physically.

I was just all over the place, and so was my coffee station organization system.

My coffee station organization setup

I don’t have the largest space for coffee, but I do have a dedicated part of my kitchen/counter for my coffee things.

But the cupboards had gotten unorganized and there was an excess of “things” inside (meaning I just put things in there and shut the door…).

So I did some cleaning and reorganized my coffee station.

And that’s honestly the first part of a coffee station organization system is to actually dedicate a part of your home or kitchen to your coffee things.

Put all your brewing equipment, mugs, accessories, coffee, etc. in the same place so it’s centralized and you have exactly what you need in the same spot.

Once you have that, then you can get into various coffee organization ideas below.

Why do you need your coffee station organized?

Being organized, especially with something as crucial as your coffee station, can have a surprisingly big impact on your day. Here are a few reasons why you need your coffee station organized:

1. Saves Time: When everything has its place, you can breeze through your morning coffee routine without rummaging around for that specific mug or your favorite blend. This means less stress and more time to savor your coffee.

2. Improves Your Mood: A tidy, well-organized coffee station can set a positive tone for the day. It’s a small corner of your world that you have complete control over, and starting your day with a sense of order can help you feel more centered.

3. Maximizes Space: Even if you don’t have a large area, a coffee station organization system can help you make the most of the space you do have. It allows you to store more in a smaller space without it feeling cluttered.

4. Enhances Aesthetics: A well-organized coffee station can be a stylish addition to your kitchen. It reflects your personality and adds a cozy, inviting vibe to your space.

5. Encourages Routine: Having everything in its place can make it easier to stick to a morning routine. That’s why in the bottom corner of my cabinet pictured above you see vitamins/medication because it makes it easier to remember to take those in the morning. When your tools are within reach and organized, you’re more likely to enjoy the process of making your coffee rather than seeing it as a chore.

Coffee Station Organization Ideas

Here are some specific coffee station organization ideas to help you create a functional and aesthetically pleasing setup.

1. Tiered Trays or Stands

Why: They add vertical storage, maximizing your counter space and keeping everything organized and within reach. By using vertical space, you free up more of your countertop for other items or activities.

How: Place your most-used items on the top tier (like your favorite mug), and use the lower tiers for things like syrups, flavorings, or smaller brewing tools.

Suggested product: Rustic Two-Tiered Tray

2. Use Coffee Canisters

Why: They keep your coffee beans fresh and organized.

How: Coffee canisters are a great way to store coffee and eliminate the clutter of a coffee bag. It’s also a great way to keep coffee fresh as it keeps air out, which can degrade coffee over time. Label them with the type of coffee or roast date for easy access and an organized look.

3. Floating Shelves

Why: If counter space is limited, take advantage of your wall space if you have it.

How: Use floating shelves to store mugs, jars of coffee, syrups, or decorative items. This keeps your essentials within reach while keeping your countertop clear. Plus if cabinet space is limited, this is a great way to add additional vertical storage in your space.

4. Drawer Dividers

Why: Organizing your smaller coffee tools can prevent clutter and make your coffee-making process more efficient. When every item has its own designated spot, you won’t have to rummage through a messy drawer to find what you need, saving you time and reducing stress during your morning routine.

How: Use drawer dividers to neatly organize your coffee essentials like spoons, scoops, filters, and coffee pods. This way, each item is easily accessible and has its own place, keeping your drawer tidy and functional. And, if you’re a tea lover, drawer dividers are also perfect for organizing tea bags, loose-leaf tea containers, and infusers. I love using my drawer organizers to keep my tea collection in order (as pictured). It makes it easy to see all your options at a glance and keeps everything in its place.

5. Coffee Filter Holder

Why: A coffee filter holder can be a handy addition to your coffee station, keeping your filters organized and easily accessible. Instead of letting your filters sit loosely in a drawer or bag, a dedicated holder ensures they stay clean, neat, and within reach when you need them. Plus, it can add a decorative element to your coffee station.

How: Use a vintage tin or stylish canister to store your coffee filters. This not only keeps them tidy but also adds personality and charm to your coffee station. Choose a container that fits your aesthetic, whether it’s a rustic, farmhouse-style tin or a sleek, modern canister. The added bonus is that it doubles as decor while serving a practical purpose.

6. Sliding Coffee Tray

Why: It allows you to easily slide your coffee maker or other appliances out from under cabinets or tight spaces, making it convenient to use without taking up permanent counter space.

How: Place your coffee maker or any other appliance on the sliding tray. When you’re ready to brew coffee, you simply pull the tray forward, giving your machine the clearance it needs to function properly. Once you’re done, push the tray back under the cabinet, keeping your counter clutter-free.

7. Consider a Freestanding Coffee Bar

Why: If your counter spA coffee cart example as a coffee station organization idea.ace is tight, a separate coffee bar could be the best solution. It creates a dedicated area for your coffee-making essentials, freeing up your kitchen counters and adding a stylish, functional element to your home.

How: Purchase a freestanding piece of furniture, such as a bar cart, console table, or small cabinet, and designate it as your coffee bar. Arrange your coffee maker, mugs, coffee beans, syrups, and other accessories on the bar. You can also add shelves or hooks above the bar for extra storage or decoration. This setup not only organizes your coffee essentials but also creates a cozy, inviting spot in your home dedicated to your love of coffee.
