Why Books and Coffee?

Before we dive into some amazing coffee and book subscription boxes, let’s first explore why books and coffee make the perfect companions.

There is just something about the comfort of a warm cup of coffee and a good book that has always brought me peace, and I know others feel the same.

And, I think that’s the ultimate goal with these coffee book subscription boxes: to create a cozy experience for a new book and coffee adventure to unfold.

1. Rituals of Relaxation:

For many, the ritual of brewing coffee and settling down with a book is a cherished part of their daily routine. Whether it’s a quiet morning ritual or a post-work wind-down, this simple act brings a sense of comfort and familiarity. It’s a chance to pause, savor the moment, and indulge in a bit of self-care.

2. Fuel for the Mind:

Just as coffee provides a boost of energy, books nourish the mind and spark the imagination. Whether you’re delving into a gripping thriller, exploring far-off lands in a fantasy novel, or diving into the depths of history with non-fiction, books offer endless opportunities for growth and discovery. And what better way to fuel your literary adventures than with a cup of coffee by your side?

3. Solitude and Serenity:

A cup of coffee and a book offer a reprieve from the noise of the world around us. It’s a chance to disconnect from your phone, work, and other distractions, and immerse yourself in new worlds. Whether you’re seeking solitude or simply craving a moment of quiet reflection, there’s solace to be found in the simple pleasure of sipping coffee and turning pages.

4. Community and Connection:

While coffee and books can be enjoyed alone, they also have a remarkable ability to bring people together. From gathering with friends for a book club discussion over lattes or striking up a conversation with a fellow reader at a local cafe, these shared experiences foster a sense of community and connection. After all, there’s nothing quite like bonding over a shared love of literature and caffeine.

Now that we’ve explored why books and coffee make the perfect companions, let’s dive into some amazing coffee and book subscription boxes that promise to take your reading experience to new heights.

Amazing Coffee and a Book Subscription Boxes

Bookishly

One of the first in the world of books and coffee subscription boxes, Bookishly was founded in 2009 and is based in the United Kingdom.

Since its inception, it has grown exponentially and is recognized worldwide offering a variety of literary-style gifts. Those offerings include subscription boxes like the Coffee & Vintage Book Club.

This unique offering is available for anywhere from 3-12 months and you can even add a literary mug to your first box.

A three-month subscription costs approximately $50 and each month you will get a vintage book and a bag of ground coffee from Perkulatte. Each month is a different coffee from Perkulatte, so you don’t have to worry about getting the same one every month even though you are ordering from the same roaster.

This box in particular is a great gift idea for a loved one and they also offer a Tea and Vintage Book Club Subscription.

Caffeine and Legends

Caffeine and Legends was founded in 2015 originally under the name Pour Over Parchment.

Caffeine and Legends monthly subscription box.

A monthly book box with a focus on books and coffee (or tea or drinking chocolate), this is my personal favorite on this list.

Each box typically contains five items: a book plus a drink of choice (either coffee, tea, or drinking chocolate) and then other goodies like stickers, socks, bookmarks, etc. It depends on the theme, but the extras are always great! It never feels like “stuff” just added into a box to fill it.

And, one of my favorite things is you don’t have to order a subscription at all to enjoy a monthly box. Caffeine and Legends unveils the theme of the box towards the beginning of each month and you can purchase a one-time box if you want.

You do get a discount for the subscription, though, so keep that in mind if you enjoy this one!

BookBrews

An Etsy shop, BookBrews offers 1-month, 3-month, or 6-month subscription options. In addition to picking either coffee or tea, you can also choose your book genre.

This is a great feature I haven’t found in another coffee and book subscription box. You can choose from Fiction, Non-Fiction, Classic, Memoir, Thriller/Mystery, Romance, Fantasy/Sci-Fi, or Business/Self-Help.

You also get chocolate in each box in addition to the book and coffee/tea! It’s such a fun way to enjoy books and coffee and would make a great gift idea too!

Headcount Coffee

A twist on the books and coffee boxes comes from Headcount Coffee, a coffee roaster out of Texas.

They have a wide range of coffee options and the Full Size Book Box comes with a bag of coffee and a book! Book genres include Thriller or True Crime and coffee options include a Dark Roast or a Medium Roast in whichever ground form you prefer (or whole bean).

I love that Headcount Coffee has thought outside the box (ha!) with this offering because you don’t typically see something like this with coffee roasters.

It’s a great way to support a small local coffee roaster and get a monthly book at the same time!

In a fast-paced world where time is a precious commodity, the ritual of enjoying coffee and a book offers a timeless refuge.

The emergence of coffee and book subscription boxes has taken this experience to new heights, offering an opportunity to discover exciting new reads while indulging in the comforting embrace of a warm cup of coffee.

So, whether you’re seeking moments of relaxation, intellectual stimulation, solitude, or community, these subscription boxes provide the perfect blend of books and coffee to enhance your reading experience.

Now, I’m curious – when it comes to books and coffee, what are your favorite subscription boxes? Share your recommendations and continue exploring the captivating world of books and coffee.
